The first time I saw Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve was on Instagram last year. I have been obsessing over the property since then. How amazing it was to finally be able to work with them this year during our visit in Krabi. First off, we were picked up from our previous hotel by a very friendly driver. When we got inside the van, we already knew we were in for a great time when there were fresh squeezed orange juice, dried fruits, and cold towels waiting for us. It was only a 30-minute drive but if you are worried about getting bored, the van is also equipped with wifi. 😉
So, what is a Reserve? As the company explains it, “The Reserve is for travelers seeking to discover a singular location and peerless resort that, through its design and services, has a distinctive personality that blends together the culture, history and heritage of its setting. The Reserve brand extension will be offering guests’ exotic, hand-selected ‘hideaway’ destinations globally; a relaxed, casually elegant atmosphere; and an even greater level of individualized service through a higher staff to guest ratio.” There are currently three Ritz-Carlton Reserves in the world, Phulay Bay in Krabi, Mandapa in Ubud, and Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico. There are two more opening in the future, Los Cabos in Mexico and Pearl Island in Panama. And if I will be honest, Phulay Bay lived up to what a Reserve should be.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by upper management and staff and assured us of an amazing stay ahead. We were then transported via golf cart by the outstanding, Khun Pin, who assisted us with all our needs during our whole time in Phulay Bay. With 54 acres of property, golf cart is the mode of transportation if you want to tour around the area. Upon entering our villa, we were surprised by our gigantic bed – two California king mattresses that were put together! Johnrick and I were joking about how we should have brought our entire family here and still be able to fit on the bed.
Villa 12 also has the longest pool in the property so we made use of it and did laps every morning. After all, it’s the best way to workout while on vacation, right?
Whenever I am looking for a relaxing time after a day of adventuring (in this case, island hopping), my favorite thing to do is relaxing on the tub. So it’s only understandable that my favorite part of the room is the tub, but in Phulay Bay’s case, not just one but two tubs! I love the outdoor tub and I can stay there for hours just relaxing and listening to the sound of the birds.

There’s so many things that you can do during your stay in Phulay Bay. They offer activities like yoga, hiking the top of Naga mountain, Hong Island boat tour and all other activities you can think of. All of you have to do is to ask your butler to arrange it for you. Johnrick and I decided to do the boat tour for Hong Island which usually leaves at 8AM every day. The thing I love about it is that, with early departure, you are assured that you’ll be the first ones to arrive in the island before the tourists doing boat tours flock the area. I also personally liked the Thai Mojito making class that we attended at Chomtawan Bar. I really loved the drink so I cannot wait to apply everything I learned from the class.
One of the best sunsets we saw in Thailand are the ones in Phulay Bay. Keep scrolling if you need convincing.

If your private pool isn’t enough, you can enjoy the infinity pool and enjoy the view of the ocean and the islands nearby.
We enjoyed our time in Phulay Bay and we cannot wait to go back again someday. We cannot recommend it enough for everyone looking for the perfect relaxing getaway. Let me know if you have questions about the property or our experience in the comment. 🙂

Such a gorgeous place! I am the most unglamourous traveller, but I wouldn’t mind trying such an experience once in a lifetime 😀

Yes! I would totally splurge for this experience. 🙂 thanks for stopping by.
I did a quick stayover in Krabi a few years ago on my way to the Andaman Islands. It wasn’t exactly my favourite place in Thailand—had I stayed here, it probably would have made my trip! Love the architecture and all the leafy gardens. I’m looking for a place now for my upcoming honeymoon—I think Phulay Bay would be perfect!

Awesome! And congratulations! I hope you consider Phulay Bay cause I would say, having stayed at a different hotel before checking in here, it was a different experience! I didn’t appreciate Krabi till Phulay Bay. 🙂
This sounds so incredible! We actually in Thailand at the moment – but in Pattaya. So not sure we will get there this time around but would definitely love to visit here someday! It’s so picturesque

The place is absolutely gorgeous and the location seems to be great as well. It seems like a very romantic area. I love your pictures.
Phulay Bay looks like a place fit for a king! I love how there’s a good mix of relaxing and fun activities to do. I would be interested in the Thai mojito making class too and to see what the differences are between a Thai mojito and a mojito back home. Looks like you had a lovely time!
Wow! Beautiful place, beautiful you and lovely sunset shots.
