2018 went by so fast it’s gone before I know it. I loved looking back on it and seeing how I was able to fulfill half of my travel goals while spontaneously traveling to places I didn’t expect to explore. Which only goes to show that we can never control what will happen, especially in a year’s time.
Moving on, it’s time to set new goals for 2019! And this is not just about my travel goals. This is also about my passion projects that I’ve been wanting to kick start. But I thought I’d still start with my top destinations for 2019.
MY TOP TRAVEL DESTINATIONS
- Greece – didn’t get to twirl in Santorini last year, so best believe I’m rolling it over to this year
- Italy– aah, where do I even begin? Dolomites? Amalfi Coast? Pizza? Pasta? Gelato? ITALY.
- Australia– I have families in Perth and I have been wanting to visit them. Also a road trip to the Great Ocean Road sounds so cool
- Japan– Still one of my favorite countries. After seeing its beauty in fall, I am dying to go back during spring for the cherry blossoms
- Fiji– I wanna go so bad! I need to channel my inner Moana and just go!
- Russia– Russia during winter looks like you’re inside a snow globe, or at least that’s how I imagined it. The colorful architecture covered with snow – too dreamy! I know I will freeze to death, but I really want to go.
- Iran– think sick architectural works and designs that will blow your mind. Iran has it. Plus I’m sure it will not be as crowded as the usual tourist-magnet countries. One of my best friends, Jules, told me long time ago how she’s been wanting to go and I told her I’d be totally down. So stay tuned!
- Banff– I still want to see the Gatorade blue water and all the amazing landscape. I need to make Banff happen this year.
- India– I am ready for another sensory overload. Bring it on, India!
- Thailand– in need of more temple runs and pad thai. Plus the cheap Thai massage will seal the deal.
MY PASSION PROJECTS
- Start our business in the Philippines – after so much going back and forth, excitements and disappointments, we are finally starting with construction soon. So excited for this!
- Create more video content– I know it takes so much work but I can no longer put it off. I need to actually start making those videos that I’ve been wanting to make. I have so much video footage from our trips but I never got to edit any of them. This year, I will just do it!
- Meet more strangers– after opening up myself to the instagram community last year, I was able to meet a lot of kind souls and amazingly talented individuals. This year, I want to meet even more of you. I am hosting some group travels towards the end of the year or early next year. I think it’s a great way to meet new people who share the same love of traveling and of course, to make new friends. It can also help if you’ve been wanting to go to places but can’t find anyone to go with or you don’t feel safe to go by yourself. Or just to hang out, talk about life, photography, social media and everything under the sun. It will be fun! If this is something you would be interested in, sign up here to receive updates regarding the trip, like early bird discounts, trip schedule, etc.
- Redecorate our room– Johnrick and I started our bedroom project late last year. Until now, we’re still trying to do a little bit every time we’re not traveling. We’re slowly getting there. Here’s a before and after photo.
BEFORE
Please don’t judge our messy room. This was right before we started the renovation so it was really out of order. Haha.
AFTER
My humble corner that I love so much. 🙂
My handira pillow and organic cotton pom blanket are from Minda Living. So in love with the store! They create pieces that are mindfully made by hand using earth-friendly materials. Go check them out!
This may all sound so ambitious right now. But I love setting goals and working my way towards achieving them. I can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring! What are some of your goals for the new year?
