Hi friends! I know we are all in a very difficult situation right now, with the COVID-19 cases multiplying every day, especially in America. I hope everyone’s staying healthy and staying home unless you have necessary things that you need to do outside, or walking your dogs, or just walking for fresh air. I am pretty sure that by now, we already know the drill. So keep staying home and let’s all stay healthy and positive!
During this writing, Johnrick and I are still self-isolating at home. And even though we had to cancel some trips, I am very grateful that we are home, safe and with family especially in this very difficult time.
As scary as it might be, I am still hopeful that we’re going to get through all of this. Some of the things that I have been working on while at home are cleaning up my closet and editing travel photos while also dreaming about those moments of travels. And that being said, I have listed my top 10 countries that I want to go back to after everything goes back to normal.
HERE ARE MY TOP 10 COUNTRIES IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
- INDONESIA – my friend, Jules, and I were in Bali before almost all the countries decided to close their borders. We knew we had to cut the trip short so I definitely want to go back to Bali and other islands in Indonesia. Lombok, Java and Komodo are high on my list.
Wearing: wide brim hat from Lack of Color, Tularosa top from Revolve, khaki shorts from J.ing and round rattan bag from Surrender the Label.
- ITALY – the number one reason why I would love to go back to Italy – no, not because of pizza and pasta, but because I’ve been dying to go to Dolomites!
Wearing: (first photo) wide brim hat from Lack of Color, lemon off-shoulder dress from Bisou Bisou, (third photo) front-tie maxi dress from Auguste the Label, (fourth photo) one-shoulder ruffle top from J.ing, straw bag from Kaanas, comfy sandals from Nine West
- GERMANY – when Johnrick and I went to Germany last year, we drove from Munich down to the countryside crossing the Austrian border. That was one of our most favorite trips. The beauty on that part of the country just left both of us speechless. And we both agreed we want to go back to Germany to explore more of this beautiful country.
Wearing: one piece swimsuit from NA-KD
- AUSTRIA – and that same trip, we discovered how beautiful Austria is. We have only been to one part of it but we knew that we want to see more. I have been wanting to check out Hallstatt, so hopefully we can go back soon.
Wearing: (left) white straw hat from Gigipip, pink backpack from Herschel, denim jacket from Socialite Clothing; (right) Claribel dress from Ulla Johnson
- CHINA – the first time we went to China was two years ago. I can still remember how hard it was for us to get our Chinese visa. I talked about our experience on a previous blog. We only went to Beijing, Shanghai and Zhangjiajie then but after that trip, we already knew we want to go back to see and experience more of what China has to offer. The food was really great and going to Chengdu to see the pandas has been on my bucket list for a long time now.

- SOUTH KOREA – we’ve only been to Seoul but our love for Korean food is enough reason to go back for us. We usually do a South Korea layover and sometimes it’s long enough for us to actually go outside and join in one of the free transit tours that they offer at the airport. The only time that we weren’t there for a layover, we only had two days to spend in the country, so we decided to stay in Seoul and we did all the eating that our stomach could handle. The next time we’re back, I’d definitely want to hit up Busan and Andong.

- MALAYSIA – we went around Kuala Lumpur the last time we were in Malaysia. But I definitely know that there’s so much to this country than just the city. Don’t get me wrong, we really loved our experience there and loved the food as well. But I have seen photos of islands in Malaysia that I feel are needing more exposures like Langkawi, Penang and Sipadan Island.
Wearing: (left)Amabella dressfrom Capulet; (right) Love of My Life dress in white from Free People
- GREECE – Greece instantly became one of our favorite countries ever after visiting Santorini and Mykonos last year. The hype with Santorini sunset is real! I would love to go back to explore the other islands and live my best life again!
Wearing: (first photo) Cleo dress from Sundress; (third photo) blue dress from Fortunate One; (fourth photo) sandals from Kaanas
- THAILAND – I feel like Thailand never runs out of beautiful places to visit. So I would love to go and check out Ko Samui, Ko Tao, Ko Yao Yai and so much more next time.
Wearing: (second photo) top and bottom set from Lost + Wander; (third photo) dress from Faithfull the Brand
- JAPAN – we always always want to go to Japan – for so many reasons! But this time, I want to go back even more for the Hanami season, since we had to cancel our original plan of going.
Wearing: (first photo) sweater from H&M, backpack from Nordstrom BP; (second photo) plaid jacket from Forever21; (fourth photo) dress from Socialite Clothing
I think, with all the negativity that we see on the news, it’s important to take care of ourselves as well as our mental health. It is totally okay to feel scared and sad sometimes but let’s not just focus on that. There are other good things happening despite the bad – some cities have been seeing clear skies after all factories shut down, fishes are being seen on the waters of Venice canals and people have been constantly washing hands! It is also okay to be hopeful and dream of future plans and travels. It’s the best time to plan for a trip and actually sit down and do research and not just be always on the go.
Stay safe, everyone!
