Although we should really be celebrating all of our moms everyday, Mother’s Day is THE day that is all about them. We all want to show them how much we appreciate them and I get it, sometimes it’s just hard to do that. When the holiday comes, it’s just hard to come up with something to give them and most of the time we just default to a bouquet of flowers. My mom has been wanting to have brunch at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay and last weekend, we finally went. The property offers weekend brunch at their Forbes Four Star fine dining restaurant, Navio. Everything is plated now and served to you at your table. You can order as much as you like and enjoy a menu featuring seafood fresh from harbor, farmer’s market inspired salads, traditional brunch favorites with spin, prime cuts, specialty desserts, and more. We enjoyed our two-hour meal and now finally understand why brunch at Navio has regularly been hailed as the best brunch in the San Francisco Bay Area. My mom loved it and if you are from the Bay and are looking for a very special Mother’s Day gift, I would say this will be it! If you know any brunch spot that your mom loves, make a reservation and let her eat to her heart’s desire.

I don’t know of any mom that does not like scented candles. It instantly lifts up anyone’s mood whenever you light one. My favorite ones are the Capri Blue Volcano line from Anthropologie. And if you are looking to support small businesses, Light the Vibe Candle Co. is a woman owned small business that sells soy candles and they have a variety of unique scents to choose from. My favorite is the Manifest candle but I should really try all the other scents. I’m sure your moms will love these candles.
MASSAGE/WELLNESS
TREAT YO’ MOMMA! With all the hustle and bustle (plus pandemic), I can only imagine how exhausted our moms are and how much they long for a relaxation. Why not treat them to a spa or massage treatment? While we were staying at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, I wanted to go all out and treat my mom to a very relaxing massage so I booked a 50-minute Stress Relief Massage and I am so glad I did. She enjoyed the whole treatment and left her rested, rejuvenated and wanting more. You can also treat your mom to a manicure/pedicure or a hair treatment. It’s a fail-proof gift!

It’s probably pretty obvious by now that I am all about gifting experiences. For me, more than material things, nothing beats the memories that last a lifetime. Just like you, your mom is probably itching to go somewhere. Even with the vaccine rollout, it’s understandable that not everyone feels safe to travel. Why not gift her a staycation to a really nice place or just anywhere she can unwind? It doesn’t have to be Hawaii or Mexico (unless they live there and that’s what staycation means to them), it can be somewhere closer, an hour or two away from where they are located. Somewhere not as crowded and where they can fully feel relaxed and on vacation mode.
