If we did anything right on our trip to Portugal, it was renting a car to go on a road trip. There is definitely no other way to go than it. When I was planning our itinerary, I saw that there were endless praias (beaches) in the Algarve and I knew I had to see them myself.
We started our road trip from Porto. We picked up our car rental at Hertz in Oporto Airport the night before and headed out really early the next day. After stopping by Sintra, Coimbra, and Lisbon on our way down, we finally made it to the beautiful Algarve.
We checked in at Quinta Bonita Luxury Boutique Hotel, where we found ourselves at home with its cozy ambience. The staff were very helpful and nice and I especially loved our room with a panoramic ocean view. I also love that it was close to the main attractions. If you are looking for a home away from home in Lagos, this is the place to stay at.
If you have the budget and are looking for a more luxurious hotel experience, I recommend that you check out Onyria Palmares Beach & Gold Resort. It is a 5 star hotel with SPA and health center, a restaurant overlooking the ocean with beautiful ambience, meeting rooms, a panoramic club-house, and offers great number of sports & leisure activities. They have a unique 27-hole golf course which links holes along the beach and the great views.

I made a reservation for a minivan from Sixt at Denver International Airport. Of course, upon a lot of research and as well reading plenty of reviews. There were several negatives concerning their service, however, it did not make the car rental deal bad. I was absolutely satisfied with my Van! I give them 5 stars just because of my car!
