December has just started and I am already writing my 2020 travel goals, like WHAT?! I am just super excited about the coming year. We had a very blessed 2019 and I learned so many things about our business. By business, I mean our own brand. Yes, content creation is no longer a side gig for us. We went full throttle this year. And I realized that the more we embraced it, the more opportunities showed up before us.
2020 will mark the start of another decade; new opportunities and every year it just keeps getting better and better. So if 2019 had been amazing, I can’t wait to see what 2020 will bring!
Looking back at my 2019 travel goals, I can tell how my priorities have shifted after a year. This coming year, I’m all about either checking off all the wonders of the world or maintaining a tropical theme.
MY TOP TRAVEL DESTINATIONS
- Maldives – Maldives wasn’t THAT high on my previous list but some of the mermaids I know boast of the beauty of Maldives compared to ALL the other islands they’ve been to. Now it got me really curious. Need to make Maldives happen in 2020!
- Bora Bora/ Fiji – honestly, I want to go to either one so bad that I have been looking at how much points do we have on our Chase Sapphire card since July.
- Seychelles – three years ago, while researching for places in Africa to visit for our honeymoon, one of our resident doctors at work told me that Seychelles is the most beautiful place, not just in Africa, but in the world. It would be awesome if we can also see that for ourselves.
- Myanmar – it has been so high up on my list that I actually booked a ticket to travel to Myanmar with friends back in January. But due to unfortunate events, I didn’t make it to the trip. But that doesn’t mean I forgot about how I’ve been dying to go.
- Cook Islands – it made it to my radar this year as I saw few of my favorite bloggers went and I had major island life envy just from looking at their photos.
- Brazil – Again, need to see all the world wonders.
- Australia – I can’t wait to witness my cousin get married in Perth! Also, super excited to set foot in a new continent.
- Sri Lanka – even after all the sad and scary things that happened to Sri Lanka this year, I still want to go and I hope we get to go sooner than later.
- UAE – I remember wanting to go so bad few years ago, but everything changed last year when my priorities shifted to visiting Europe more. But now, I feel like I’m ready for UAE again.
- Russia – AGAIN. Russia during winter looks like you’re inside a snow globe, or at least that’s how I imagined it. The colorful architecture covered with snow – too dreamy! I know I will freeze to death, but I really want to go.
- India – to be honest, we’re waiting for Johnrick’s best friend to get married so we can finally go. But let’s be real, if opportunity knocks, we’re down to go anytime!
- Nepal – it would be so cool to visit and have a National Geographic experience. I don’t see a lot of people going here but it’s definitely on my list of places to visit.
- Iceland – majestic waterfalls, insane landscapes, Blue Lagoon, beautiful horses, what’s not to love about Iceland? I would love to drive around in an RV with Johnrick.
- Norway/Finland – I am not made for the cold and there’s only a few places left where I’d willingly freeze just to be there, and Norway and Finland fall on that list.
- Uzbekistan – Uzbekistan and Iran have been on my radar since last year. But since it’s currently difficult for Americans to go to Iran, I would gladly go to Uzbekistan as they have almost similar sick architecture anyway.
Guys, I couldn’t contain my excitement for the coming year as much as I couldn’t keep my list to my top 10 and had to throw in my top 15 there. There’s so many cool places that I wanted to go to and some favorites that I would love to come back to. Praying for the travel Gods to hear our prayers this coming year!
What’s on everyone’s bucket list this coming year?
Since it’s Cyber Monday, I also wanted to share with you some of the greatest deals that I love following along:
For travels, I always make sure I follow The Points Guy’s blog posts for the best deals on flights. Last year we booked a ticket to Barcelona from San Francisco for $150 thanks to TPG! That initiated our Europe trip.
For fashion, I love shopping at Shopbop, as you know. So I wanted to share with you the good news that they’re extending the fun with more new markdowns and an additional 10% on top of the previous discounts that they were giving during Black Friday.
For holiday gifts, my favorite will always be Target and Amazon.
HAPPY SHOPPING!
